About

Lily Maino, MS.
Licensed Professional Counselor

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I know that choosing a counselor or therapist is a very personal and individual process. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe deeply in the power of counseling and the therapeutic relationship. I know that all of us, myself included, can at times benefit from an outside perspective, new tools (coping skills), an empathic ear, or just a safe place to vent.

In our sessions together, you will receive acceptance, warmth, empathic listening, along with gentle challenges that will allow you to gain better insight into yourself and your relationships. Measurable change comes to those who are motivated to gain self-awareness, who want to find their authentic selves, and who can actively participate in the healing process. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions to help you find hope, healing, and the life you desire. My personal style is direct and growth-focused. I want to see positive changes for you and do not want to “beat around the bush”. I am systemically trained and therefore believe that as one person grows (whether they are small changes in ways of thinking or huge changes in relationships) those changes can cause a ripple effect of positive growth.

With over 10 years of experience working with Children, Adults, Families, and Couples, I have seen my clients make significant changes to improve their lives and the lives of those they love. I feel honored to be a part of and to witness my clients growth and progress.

Currently, I am taking new clients of all ages who desire a counselor to help them with:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD/ADD)
  • Anxiety/Panic Attacks
  • Depression
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Eating Disorders
  • Life Transitions
  • Parenting Concerns
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Relationship Distress
  • Self-Harming Behaviors
  • Self-Esteem/Self-Identity
  • Suicidal Ideation
  • Trauma and Abuse

I earned both a Master of Science Degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Science, with minors in Anthropology and Geography, from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), in San Luis Obispo, California.

Megan Brice, MS.
Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate

Hello! I’m very happy to be working with Counseling Partners of Northern Colorado. I graduated in 2017 from the University of Wyoming with my Masters in Counseling with a concentration in Community Mental Health Counseling and received my bachelors from the University of Northern Colorado in 2015 in Human Services with an emphasis in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and a minor in Psychology. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy playing board games, making art, and traveling! I’m originally from southern Colorado so I enjoy my time in the mountains and finding the best green chili around town.

My personal style of counseling is collaborative, working with clients to meet realistic and achievable goals at an individual pace. I feel as though counseling is a partnership in which both client and counselor have active roles. I work from a person centered perspective allowing clients to develop their own beliefs and sense of self. I believe that counseling is not a “one size fits all” but instead, is a unique experience for every person. Therefore, I draw techniques from several different theories depending on the client’s needs. I enjoy using art and other forms of creative expression in my work with clients. I wish to integrate your interests and passions into the counseling relationship to make the counseling process interactive and meaningful for you. My hope is that at the end of our counseling relationship, you will have gained a deeper sense of self and can work towards setting and achieving your goals.

Currently, I work closely with adolescents (ages 9-20) however am taking new clients of all ages who desire a counselor to help them with:
