Lily Maino, MS.
Licensed Professional Counselor
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I know that choosing a counselor or therapist is a very personal and individual process. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe deeply in the power of counseling and the therapeutic relationship. I know that all of us, myself included, can at times benefit from an outside perspective, new tools (coping skills), an empathic ear, or just a safe place to vent.
In our sessions together, you will receive acceptance, warmth, empathic listening, along with gentle challenges that will allow you to gain better insight into yourself and your relationships. Measurable change comes to those who are motivated to gain self-awareness, who want to find their authentic selves, and who can actively participate in the healing process. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions to help you find hope, healing, and the life you desire. My personal style is direct and growth-focused. I want to see positive changes for you and do not want to “beat around the bush”. I am systemically trained and therefore believe that as one person grows (whether they are small changes in ways of thinking or huge changes in relationships) those changes can cause a ripple effect of positive growth.
With over 10 years of experience working with Children, Adults, Families, and Couples, I have seen my clients make significant changes to improve their lives and the lives of those they love. I feel honored to be a part of and to witness my clients growth and progress.
Currently, I am taking new clients of all ages who desire a counselor to help them with:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD/ADD)
- Anxiety/Panic Attacks
- Depression
- Bipolar Disorder
- Eating Disorders
- Life Transitions
- Parenting Concerns
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Relationship Distress
- Self-Harming Behaviors
- Self-Esteem/Self-Identity

I earned both a Master of Science Degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Science, with minors in Anthropology and Geography, from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), in San Luis Obispo, California.
