If you are reading this page, you might be considering individual counseling for yourself or a loved one. I know that this process can be scary and can produce a lot of anxiety. At Counseling Partners of Northern Colorado, PLLC, I know that choosing a therapist is a process. I am not a one-size fits all counselor, nor do I think that counseling should be a one-size fits all process. In fact, just the opposite: I believe that you and your life story are unique. I have to be able to hear your story, your concerns, your hopes and dreams in order to create a unique and effective treatment plan with you.

Our initial consultation is an opportunity so I can get to know you, and so you can get to know me before you embark on the therapeutic process. During your consultation, I hope to hear your story, get to know at what point you are in your process, and begin to build a therapeutic relationship. This is also your time to get to know me; please ask me anything you want! I will not deflect your questions; I will answer them honestly and openly, because I know that trust is built on mutual respect and vulnerability. You have to get to know me and feel comfortable and confident in my abilities to help you in order to create a strong therapeutic relationship.

After the initial consultation, should you decide to proceed, you and your therapist will create a treatment plan. This plan is not written in stone: it acts as my guide to help me get you where you want to go, and it is designed for your unique situation, needs, and personality. I want you to be actively involved in your counseling process.

In therapy, I use evidence-based techniques to help you heal past hurts, create healthy coping skills, and build stronger relationships. My passion is helping individuals create the lives for which they long.
